Our Story
This is the story of 30 years spent inside Punjabi restaurant kitchens — and why we decided to bring that experience home.
Singh's Recipe® was not designed in a food laboratory or built to a trend. It was built in a kitchen — specifically, in the Punjabi restaurant kitchens where Chef S. S. Sembhi spent more than three decades learning, refining, and perfecting the craft of authentic flavour.
Over 30 years, thousands of dishes, and an unrelenting focus on getting every layer right, a philosophy emerged. Flavour is not an accident. It is the result of discipline — of understanding which ingredients belong together, in what order, at what heat, and for how long.
That philosophy is what Singh's Recipe® is built on.
“Flavour is not a shortcut. It is the result of knowing exactly what you are doing, and doing it the same way, every time.”
Chef S. S. Sembhi — Singh's Recipe®
For decades, the gap between restaurant-quality Punjabi food and what people could produce at home remained wide. Not because of skill. Not because of effort. But because the knowledge required to close that gap — the exact balance of spices, the precise layering of flavour, the timing that comes only from years in a professional kitchen — was not available in a jar.
Supermarket sauces offered convenience. They did not offer authenticity. They were shortcuts built on bulk flavouring, stabilisers, and a fundamental compromise: acceptable, not excellent.
Singh's Recipe® was created to solve that problem. Not to make cooking easier for the sake of it — but to make exceptional Punjabi cooking achievable, consistently, by anyone who cares about what they put on the table.
The insight behind Singh's Recipe® is architectural. In a professional Punjabi kitchen, flavour is built in layers. There is a foundation layer — the marinade that penetrates and primes. There is a depth layer — the cooking paste that creates character and complexity. And there is a finishing layer — the bold heat and spice that defines the dish.
Random sauces on a supermarket shelf have no relationship to each other. Singh's Recipe® products are designed from the ground up to work together — each one playing a specific role in the same cooking sequence that has produced exceptional results in professional kitchens for three decades.
Paste. Create. Taste. That is the system. Three steps. Three products. One complete cooking experience.
Chef S. S. Sembhi starts his career in Punjabi restaurant kitchens. The education in flavour, fire, and discipline that will eventually become Singh's Recipe® begins here — not with a product concept, but with a craft.
A decade inside professional kitchens builds the core knowledge base: how Punjabi flavour is layered, why sequence matters, what separates an exceptional dish from a competent one. These are not recipes — they are principles.
The question that would become Singh's Recipe® crystallises: what would it take to deliver authentic, restaurant-grade Punjabi cooking to a home kitchen — without compromise? The answer was not a single product. It was a system.
Three products. Thirty years of knowledge inside each one. A cooking system built not on convenience but on craft — available to anyone who refuses to settle for ordinary food at home.
Great Punjabi cooking is not intuitive — it is learned. Every element has a purpose. Every step has an order. Thirty years of that discipline is what goes into every Singh's Recipe® product.
We do not use fillers, artificial stabilisers, or generic spice blends designed for mass-market acceptability. Singh's Recipe® uses real ingredients, built for real Punjabi flavour.
A single sauce solves one problem. A system solves all of them. Singh's Recipe® is designed so that every product has a relationship with the others — layering, complementing, and completing.
“We did not set out to make cooking easier. We set out to make exceptional Punjabi cooking possible at home — for anyone who takes what they eat seriously.”
